FIN-MISSION

A Christian Kibbutz in Israel

The establishment of a Christian kibbutz in Israel has been on the hearts of many for a long time, but no one has said it out loud. The idea is not new, but it is worth praying about. We are setting out with a few influential Christians to prayerfully explore the possibilities of realizing this dream – “vision” – in a concrete way.

The kibbutz would be funded by Western friends of Israel.  The construction and management of the kibbutz would be the responsibility of the congregations and other influential people in Israel.  The kibbutz would offer an opportunity for Western Christians to serve on the kibbutz farms and in other practical work on a voluntary and temporary basis during visa-limited periods. With that work, we would finance a large part of the kibbutz’s operations.  The main task of the kibbutz would be to provide shelter and help to Israelis in various crises, who could rest and recover under the shelter of the kibbutz and at the same time learn about what the Jewish Jesus Christ can offer them for help with the crises of their lives.  Western Christians would help finance the operation together..

I have been starting a Christian women's shelter with my friends in Israel and, inspired by that experience, we have long dreamed of a kibbutz that could offer similar help, but on a multi-fold scale. All of this could be possible by networking globally.

Negotiations are being held about the project in different parts of the world. So nothing concrete has happened yet. The "vision" is so challenging that it can only progress through the power of prayer. Therefore, we are leaving the matter as a current prayer topic.

For the sake of clarification, it should be noted: Usually, new projects are only announced after they have begun to be implemented. However, this project needs determined intercession in order for it to take even the first step, and therefore prayer is needed before anything else is announced.

“The prayer of a righteous man, when it is fervent, avails much.” (James 5:16)
